How to develop or improve your game can be easily accomplished with Golf Driving Tips. The
definition of the perfect golf swing is “A coordinated and balanced mechanism of the body and the golf
club.” This begins as the club goes back, around, up, down, hitting the ball and following through by hitting
with a descending blow in the middle of the club face. The key is “balance” and “in sequence
(coordinated).” Stay focused with Golf Driving Tips and you can become a good golfer.
Since we discussed the hands in a previous article “Golf Drills - The Mini Swing,” this body movement must
be applied to the hinging and un-hinging of the hands.
Let’s get started by addressing the ball and then turning your shoulders 90% so the body is facing away from the
target. The down swing consists of first unwinding and then having your chest facing the target.
The right knee stays slightly bent during the entire swing. During the back swing, the left knee has to turn in
towards the golf ball allowing your hips to turn about 45° and allowing your shoulders to go the full 90° so your
back is facing the target. This will feel uncomfortable at first, so practice it often. It will be very helpful to
perform some stretching exercises before doing this to limber up.
On the down swing the left leg begins to straighten up as you unwind. The right knee remains in the same bent
position. Try to make your body go as fast as it can driving your right knee towards touching your left knee while
the left leg straightens up. Now that’s a lot to remember. Try to remember that this is an un-winding process as
opposed to a swinging process. That may help to keep your body as the main focal point and not your arms.
When the swing is complete, the result is your chest facing the target in a balanced position.
Don’t worry too much now about hitting the ball correctly as that will come eventually. Concentrate on your hip and
chest movement in conjunction with your hands and you will improve greatly. Remember to always check for
